Abstract

By comparing the low voltage harmonic filter and the traditional static var compensator（SVC） using practical examples

this paper describes the function

installation

operation and maintenance of the reactive power compensation equipment at the consumer’s end. It shows that the low voltage harmonic filter is more advanced and economical because it possesses both functions of reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering.
