Research on Current Sharing Compensation Method for Parallel Operation of AC Cables
The current carrying capacity of AC cable is increased by way of interphase parallel connection. Asymmetrical layout of cable leads to uneven current distribution in the phases
which limits the effective improvement of current carrying capacity of cable. In this paper
a high coupled split reactor (HCSR) current sharing compensation method based on the differential mode principle is proposed
and the improvement effect of the compensated current unevenness is verified by an example calculation
and the influence of such factors as layout of cable and wiring mode on HCSR compensation parameters is analyzed. The research results show that in case the self-inductance of single HCSR arm remains hunchanged
the greater the current difference between the two arms
the greater the reactance to be compensated to the cable. When the reactance needing ro be compensated to the cale remains unchanged
the smaller the current difference between the two arms
the greater the HCSR single-arm self-inductance to be required. When the length of cable is 20 km
the maximum current non-uniformity is 41.47% under different wiring and layout modes. Under the calculation condition researched in this paper
when the cable is in a straight-line configuration and grouded at a single point and in case of the lenght at 20 km with interval at 0.46 m
the required maximum HCSR single-arm self-inductance is 5.85 mH.
