Noise Contribution Analysis of Capacitor Installations Based on Measured Vibration Data
Filter capacitor installations are one of the main noise sources in HVDC transmission projects. The analysis of the noise contribution of each part is meaningful for the noise reduction of capacitor installations. In this paper
the formula to calculate acoustic contribution ratio is deduced based on the noise calculation formula. The deduced formula is applied to the analysis of the noise contribution ratios of capacitor tank and steel frame utilizing the on-site measured vibration data. It is shown by the result that the vibration of capacitor tank is the main source of the capacitor installation noise
so the vibration and radiated noise of single capacitors should be reduced firstly. On the other hand
the noise contribution of steel frame cannot be neglected. Measures to reduce the vibration propagation could also be proposed to reduce the entire noise level.
