Study on Voltage Stability of Wind Power System Based on Virtual Inertia Control
The delivery of wind power-based power system is the main solution to solve the problem of power consumption in energy-rich bases and energy shortage in load centers. With ever increasing of grid-connected capacity of double-fed wind turbines
it is of great significance to study the voltage stability of wind power system. However
the large-scale wind power grid connection leads to a reduction in the total rotational inertia of the power system and the system stability is reduced. The additional virtual inertial control can be adopted to solve grid connection stability problems. The stability mechanism of wind power system and the additional virtual inertial control strategy of doubly-fed wind turbine are analyzed. The DIgSILENT/PowerFactory power simulation software is used to get the P-V and Q-V curves of the three wind farms in Hami area so to obtain the active and reactive power margin. The influence of the virtual inertia control on the system static voltage stability and transient voltage stability is compared and analyzed. It is shown by the simulation resultthat the additional virtual inertia control cannot only increase the static voltage stability limit
reduce the active and reactive power sensitivity of the power system
and improve static voltage stability of the whole system
but also suppress abrupt increase of frequency revolution and increase the power
thus improving transient voltage stability of entire system.
