In this paper

a kind of distributed series compensation and live deicing technology for 10 kV distribution lines is proposed. The technology has the function of live deicing on the power distribution line in case of ice coating

which can improve voltage quality and reduce line loss under normal weather conditions. The voltage boosting and live deicing functions of this technology are analyzed and studied deeply. A mathematical model for power flow calculation of 10 kV distribution lines under distributed series compensation condition is set up

and a corresponding power flow calculation program is developed. Finally

a case is used to calculate distributed series compensation under normal operating conditions and line voltage distribution under deicing conditions

and both feasibility and effectiveness of the technology are verified.
