There are winding structure and stacked structure for film capacitor.The elements with type of stacked structure has in general no internal stress

good consistence between film layers and stable performance for long term operation. In this paper

a new kind of stacked element structure improving withstand voltage on the cutting position is introduced. It is shown by the test result of sample element that the withstand voltage of the new stacked metalized film capacitors on the cutting position is increased significantly and the result of life test is good.The issue on how to improve operating field strength and operating voltage of the stacked element and increase element dimension must be solved in the capacitor production.
